Foreign investment in Thailand reached a record high in 2025, totaling THB 324.1 billion across 1,078 projects authorized under the Foreign Business Act. This significant growth, highlighted by Poonpong Naiyanapakorn, Director-General of the Department of Business Development, showcases investor confidence in Thailand’s economic stability and its role as a regional production hub.

Leading Investment Sources

The top foreign investors included Japan, Singapore, and China, with Japan leading at 186 cases worth THB 85.7 billion. Notable investments spanned sectors from automotive parts to data centers. The Board of Investment (BOI) played a pivotal role, facilitating 527 approvals valued at THB 241.9 billion, focusing on advanced technology and clean energy sectors.

Eastern Economic Corridor Attraction

The Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) attracted 313 investors, accounting for 29% of total foreign investments, amounting to THB 106.5 billion. The EEC’s appeal lies in diverse sectors like automotive and electronics, with China, Japan, and Singapore being key contributors. This growth reflects the region’s ongoing transformation into a vital investment and logistics hub.
