The Thailand Futures Exchange will extend trading hours for currency and precious metal futures starting January 15, 2024, to align with global market hours, allowing continuous trading without a midday break.
Extended Futures Market Trading Hours
The futures market for trading currency futures will have extended trading hours from January 15, 2024. The trading hours for precious metal futures are also being extended to align with global market trading hours. This will allow for continuous trading without a break during the day and will be effective from January 15, 2567 onwards.
Continuous Night Trading
The Thailand Futures Exchange Public Company Limited (TFEX) is preparing to extend trading hours during the night for Currency Futures products. Specifically, USD Futures, EUR/USD Futures, and USD/JPY Futures will now be tradable until 3:00 a.m. the following day. This aligns with the increasing movements of currency values and gold prices in the global market, allowing investors to manage risks and adjust trading strategies.
Increased Trading Popularity
In 2023, the proportion of trading in Currency Futures and Precious Metal Futures was equally at 9% of the total trading volume.
